The festive season is well and truly on the way, and with families planning to pay Santa a visit. I thought I’d update you all with our recent trip to the Santa House Express in Palmerstown House, Johnstown, County Kildare.

First, at all, it’s worth mentioning, this is not an add for Santa Express and we have not gifted any passes.  We just really enjoyed our visit and think it’s great fun and value for money.

What to expect?

The drive up through the Palmerstown estate is stunning, when you arrive you will be directed to a parking space close to the manor.

Archie the bear and Santa’s elves greet you at the door and direct you to the booking in area.

Every year, there is a different theme for Santa express, and this season it was the year of the genie.

How long does the Santa express train take?

When you book your tickets online you will have a booking time slot.

The Santa train will take you on a short journey through the Palmerstown House Estate until you reach the Santa Manor.

When you arrive, the elves and princess directs everyone to a room with a magical genie. He interacts with the crowds and encourages everyone to help save the elf get back to Santa’s Grotto.

A little while later there is a brief talk with Mrs. Claus and everyone makes their way upstairs to meet the main man himself Santa.

Do you have to pay for the funfair rides?

There are Free unlimited funfair rides, which include two fun houses, a pirate ship, and spinning cups.

Visitors can look forward to seeing reindeer’s, rabbits, and chickens in the stables just beside the funfair.

There is also a restaurant on site that serves carvery style food, coffee, cakes, and a bar.
