The stunning Glenlo Abbey Hotel, located on the edge of Lough Corrib, is a combination of luxury and comfort. A perfect base to discover all of what’s great about the west of Ireland, with Galway City only a couple of miles away and the hills of Connemara ready to be explored.

From the award winning Pullman restaurant situated in the historic Orient Express carriage and the Oak Cellar Bar, Glenlo Abbey is 5 star class with a warm country charm.

We had the pleasure of staying in one of the Classic King Bedrooms overlooking the walled gardens and 18th Century Abbey building. The room was beautifully decorated with complimentary Orla Kiely toiletries ,fluffy bathrobes and fully stocked mini bar.

The comfy king size bed and soft down feather pillows provide all you will need for a perfect night’s sleep.

Falconry in the walled garden.

Falconry “the sport of kings” is available to guests of Glenlo Abbey Hotel. An opportunity to get up close to birds of prey, guided and instructed by experienced Falconers and to interact with some of nature’s top predators.

Other activities include fishing on the shores of Lough Corrib and yoga & meditation retreats.

Glenlo Abbey provide a culinary experience for all tastes. As we were visiting with a young baby, we decided to try out the Oak Cellar bar for dinner. The food was delicious and excellent value for money. For anyone that enjoys their craft beer I recommend sampling Independent pale ale at 6% its worth a try.

Breakfast was delicious and served to order, including a delicious display of pastries, cereals and cheeses to name a few.

Glenlo Abbey is a excellent location, for anyone looking to having a wedding or private function, as the grounds themselves are ideal for capturing that special moment on camera.
